The Reod: The Fall of Elantris. No one knows what the Reod was, but they know it came on the wings of a great tempest, a storm so powerful, it cracked the very earth itself, forming a great chasm in the lands to south. When the storm passed, so had the greatness of the once god-like Elantrians.

They fell, cast down, seemingly, by a power even greater than their own. The people who once worshipped them, were sentenced to a fate unimaginable, having to watch as their Gods, their saviors, were laid low, turned into creatures of nightmare.

The followers of the once proud Elantrians were left with nothing but a hollow void in their hearts, a void created by watching all that they believed in wither away and die. But one cannot live with a void in their heart, how quickly they sought to fill it. To fill it with anything, anything at all, anything that promised the warmth they once felt when that hollow was filled…anything…even…Hate.
